Tools of Evangelism - Tracts

Chick Tracts for Evangelism

Of all the various methods of sharing Jesus with a very lost world, passing out tracts is the easiest way to get started.

You can begin by leaving them around town discreetly in public restrooms (someone will have to pick it up), in laundromats (something to read while waiting for laundry), at a restaurant (with a generous tip), in waiting rooms.

You can put them in “help packages” for the homeless, in motel rooms, at bus stops, on business doors (after hours), The opportunities are endless.

After you build up the courage, you can start handing them out in person, to anyone anywhere.

Of course, there will be rejection, but remember what 1 Peter 4:14 says about being rejected. You cannot lose by handing out tracts.

While personal evangelism is a wonderful way to share Jesus Christ with someone, there are many benefits to using tracts.

Tracts can get inside someone’s home and stay there. While sharing Jesus and passing out tracts on Mill Avenue near ASU and the college bars, we would hand tracts to the drunk college students and tell them to put it in their pocket and read it in the morning.

Tracts never lose their temper. In my last writing, I talked about one of the COTS guys saying something he regrated later. Tracts can help prevent this.

Tracts never get into arguments. It is always tempting when sharing Jesus with someone to try and “argue someone into Heaven.” Tracts can help you avoid this.

Tracts can stick to the point without getting distracted. It is easy when sharing in person to go down “rabbit holes” and before you know it you are way off point and not even sharing Jesus.

Tracts do not compromise Scripture and never forget a verse. That is one of the biggest fears of many when sharing Jesus in person, that someone will ask you a question you don’t know the answer to.

Tracts never get discouraged. This can happen to the most seasoned of those that share Jesus with others. Many times, going door to door in our town you can get rejected home after home after home. Yes, it can be discouraging.

Tracts can be sent anywhere. We have sent tracts all over Arizona and the country and even Mexico and Canada without having to leave town. National and Global evangelism from home.

Tracts can be used without fear. The number one reason people are afraid to share Jesus with others.

Tracts can work 24 hours a day. Once you get a tract to someone and it gets in their home, they can read it any hour of the day.

Tracts are not expensive. Many tracts can be bought for around a dime a piece or less (some are a little more).

Tracts can be read many times over. If someone does not remember what was said, they can easily reread the tract.

Tracts are a great way to fulfill the Great Commission. The Great Commission is not just for Pastors or “Evangelists” but for the entire Church. If you are reading this and you are a Christian, the Great Commission is your responsibility.

Tracts are proven to work. They have been used for centuries and are recommended by some of the most famous pastors ever.

Tracts can communicate in different languages. Sure, you may be fluent in two or even three languages, but many tracts come in dozen or even hundreds of languages. We keep Spanish and Chinese tracts on hand at God 411. We have passed out German and Japanese tracts at the Grand Canyon.

Tracts never get tired. After going door to door for two or three hours in 90-degree temperatures it can get very tiring (depending on your age and health). Once you get a tract in someone’s hand God does the rest.

Tracts will work in any weather. Being in Arizona, we definitely have our weather extremes. Now, I have been out there when it is snowing and 32, or raining, or 100 degrees, but in Arizona that still leaves about half the year that we cannot do what tracts can.

When using tracts, make sure to use good quality, striking, Bible-based tracts.

God 411 Tracts for Evangelism

We at God 411 have made our own business card sized tracts that we use around town with good results. We plan on making them available on our website sometime in the future.

It is our duty to share Jesus with the lost. The results are God’s. Tracts are one of the best tools of evangelism.
